Proprioception & Balance

with a dash of fitness

Most owners expect dogs to orient their bodies properly in the environment without learning them to do so. Dogs do this partly naturally, but if you like to be active with your dog, a deeper training is certainly recommended. Dogs should have control over their bodies without thinking about it. A dog that is aware of the ability of its body and has a thorough balance, will not only perform better, but will also suffer injuries much less often.

The lessons are offered privately or in groups. To guarantee the quality of the lessons, the groups consist of a maximum of 4 or 5 teams. The lessons of the basic sequence take place once every two weeks, the group lessons are given weekly. During the lessons we will mention what can be practised at home. This will be different for each team, as each dog and handler will process steps in their own way and pace.

For beginners we offer lessons in which we teach the dogs certain exercises to train the proprioception, the balance and partly the muscles. The advanced can work with this basis to then build up the duration and intensity in exercises so that the dogs undergo a real workout. All these lessons are given under the supervision of a dog trainer and veterinarian.

Complete your training

Endurance, strength, speed, coordination & flexibility

An intensive sports life demands a lot from a dog. To prevent injuries as much as possible, we can train specific movements and techniques the dog uses in jumping, turning and gearing. The big advantage is that these exercises can be integrated in the warm-up and cooling down.

Per sport the focus of the exercises is different, just think of the big difference between the requirements of an agility
dog and a canicross dog. During a field run, the dog has to pull a certain weight forward at a high speed for a long period of time. On an agility field the main attention is on acceleration, agility and jumping techniques.

Every dog that starts and finishes his sports training well and works on his condition in addition, will be able to better bear the burden of the sport. During this sequence we will therefore also go deeper into the importance of warming and cooling down and a good training schedule. We teach you the correct order of warming and cooling down and we explain a global training schedule after which you are able to apply this for your dog(s). If you wish, we can help you to develop a monthly training schedule so that your dog gets sufficient preparation, training AND rest.
